Where to Read Me

Published by andreacoventry

Since October of 2007, I have been writing online.  Over time, I have been working on improving myself and broadening my horizons.  People frequently ask me where they can read me.  Once upon a time it was easy to just tell them website names, but now I have too many.  Find the links and descriptions below:

Associated Content:  This was the first website for which I wrote.  I discovered it on About.com.  You can provide exclusive or nonexclusive content for upfront plus performance pay or strictly performance pay.  Partner companies may hire you for special projects.  (For example, I did a series of beauty articles for Turner.)  I like to focus on education and parenting articles; however, I have written on numerous topics over the years.  Lately, I have also been providing author reviews and interviews.  I am also a Lifestyle Category Editor for this site, which means I help to choose and promote the best of the best in that category.  If you want to join me, use my referral code here.

Suite 101:  This is another site to which you must apply.  I currently focus on Montessori-related articles, as well as reviews of the latest and greatest in parenting and educational resources.  This site is a great way to help you how to use SEO and pays well for page views.

Bright Hub:  Bright Hub is primarily a science and technology channel that recently started some education channels.  I currently write for the Special Ed and Early Childhood channels.  In order to apply, you go to the channel for which you wish to write and fill out the application.  Later, if there are other channels for which you wish to write, apply to them directly.

Rochester Family & Parenting Examiner:  I write for the local Rochester, NY part of the Family & Parenting channel for Examiner.com.  I apply local twists to family and parenting information and let you know where to go!  If you decide you would like to write for any of the national or local examiner channels, please use my referral ID number:  12950.

Rochester Children’s Books Examiner:  This is a new Examiner page that just started up in November of 2009.  While the main focus is to be on local authors and their books, as well as local book signings and other book-related events, you will also find reviews and interviews featuring the books and authors from around the world.  Join me by using referral ID number 27550.

BookPleasures:  This is a book review site to which I applied, and I am totally loving!  Reviewers can choose books from Norm’s extensive database, or respond to review requests sent directly to the site.  Within the first two weeks, I received over a dozen books!  To get your book reviewed, contact Norm at bookpleasures@gmail.com.

Demand Studios:  This is a site to which you must apply.  It pays primarily flat fees for work, but there is a new revenue share program that will pay you for up to five years.  I applied under education, but find myself doing more of the medical articles that require a little research.  Most titles can be found under eHow, but also are sold to other sites associated with Demand Media.

eHow:  Other How-Tos that I write end up here.  Anyone can sign up to write for eHow!  Payment is strictly page views.

Helium:  Helium is a site which anyone can join.  Payments are primarily by page views; however, there is a marketplace which offers substantially higher upfront payments.  You have to invest some time reading and rating the work of others, but remember them rating you is what makes you money!  It’s a great place to recycle older Associated Content material to which you retained your rights.  It also provides a wealth of topic ideas for those suffering from writers block.

Bukisa:  Bukisa is another great place for recycling old content, and pays a higher page view bonus than the other sites.  They also require shorter articles for publication.  Use my referral if you wish to join!

Montessori Writer:  This is the blog which you are already reading!  This was also my first blog.  In it, I try to focus mainly on different writing resources and Montessori questions and information.

Montessori Writer’s Thoughts:  This is a blog in which I write about whatever I am thinking at that moment.

Andi’s Gardening Experiments:  I love to work in my garden, and you can also often find me working in someone else’s garden.  This is a place for me to share my stories of experimentation, as well as fun information I have discovered through others.

Andi’s Book Reviews:  I love to read, and I like to share about what I am reading.  This is where I write or link to my book reviews.

Andi’s Kids Books:  This is a blog where I write reviews and thoughts about books for and about children.

Textbroker:  This is a ghost-writing service.  Pay is relatively low, but if you can write about anything, you can easily make money by writing quick generic articles.  Honestly, I have only done one, but it’s nice to know it is there.  Go to the site and apply by writing a short (250-word) piece on one of three topics they give you.

Accentuate Writers Forum:  This is not a site for which I write; however, it is a usual online hangout for me.  Started by Michelle L. Devon, it is a place for writers to “meet” to share links, feedback, and get moral support!  If you’re a writer, I highly suggest joining this free service!
